Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Lusaka – Flight to South Luangwa

Arrive in Lusaka and connect with your flight to Mfuwe. Meet your safari guide and transfer to your lodge on the banks of the Luangwa River. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a sunset game drive, followed by dinner under the stars.

Day 2: Game Drives in South Luangwa

Your first full day begins with a morning game drive at sunrise, when predators are most active. South Luangwa is famous for its dense leopard population, as well as elephants, giraffes, and hippos. Return for lunch and rest, then head out again for an afternoon game drive that stretches into evening, with spotlights revealing lions, hyenas, and nocturnal animals.

Day 3: Walking Safari Experience

Today you’ll enjoy a guided walking safari, the activity that put Zambia on the safari map. Track footprints, study plants, and watch wildlife on foot in complete safety with your expert guide. This intimate experience connects you to the bush in a way vehicles cannot. Later in the day, relax before another evening drive.

Day 4: Full Day Safari in South Luangwa

A full day of game drives gives you more opportunities to explore deeper into South Luangwa. Mornings may bring sightings of buffalo and zebra herds, while afternoons could reveal wild dogs or elephants at the river. The night drive often provides the thrill of spotting leopards hunting.

Day 5: South Luangwa – Flight to Livingstone (Zambezi River)

After breakfast, transfer to Mfuwe Airport for your flight to Livingstone. On arrival, transfer to your lodge overlooking the Zambezi River. In the evening, enjoy a sunset boat cruise, watching hippos, crocodiles, and elephants against the backdrop of a fiery African sunset.

Day 6: Victoria Falls Exploration

Afternoon optional activities include a helicopter flight over the Falls, cultural tours, or additional river excursions.

Day 7: Leisure Day on the Zambezi

Day 8: Departure from Livingstone

After breakfast, transfer to Livingstone Airport for your onward flight. If time allows, you may visit local markets or enjoy one last walk along the Zambezi before departure.
