Join our 6 days Rwanda wildlife and gorilla tracking safari for an opportunity to see the Big Five and also track gorillas in Akagera national park and Volcanoes National park respectively. The 6 days Rwanda safari allows you to see most of the wildlife that you desire to see. This can be organised on a private basis, or in a group.
After breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up from Kigali for the journey to Volcanoes National Park, home of the famous mountain gorillas. Arrive in the afternoon and check into your lodge. If time allows, you may opt for one of the following optional activities:

This morning you’ll report to the park headquarters for a briefing before heading into the forest for your gorilla trekking adventure. The trek begins at 8:00 AM and may take between 2–6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you encounter them, you’ll spend a magical hour observing and photographing these gentle giants. Return to your lodge for relaxation.

After breakfast, return to the park headquarters for a golden monkey trek. At 8:00 AM, begin your guided walk through the bamboo forests, accompanied by park rangers who will share insights about the ecosystem, the volcanoes, and the wildlife. The trek lasts 2–4 hours, and you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Virunga Volcanoes along the way. After your encounter, return to your lodge for the evening.

After an early breakfast, depart Volcanoes National Park for a scenic 5-hour drive to Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s only savannah park and home to the Big Five. Arrive in the afternoon and enjoy a short game drive before checking into your lodge.

Today is dedicated to exploring Akagera’s diverse landscapes and wildlife. In the morning, head out for a game drive across the park’s savannah plains in search of elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and more. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat ride on Lake Ihema, where you can spot hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife.

After breakfast, begin the 2.5-hour drive back to Kigali, arriving by late morning. Depending on your flight schedule, your guide will transfer you directly to the airport for your onward journey.

This 3-day mid-range safari package is designed to offer our clients an intense taste of what Tanzania has to offer. We will experience all the excitement of an African wildlife safari in the most spectacular of landscapes. On this safari, we’ll visit Tarangire National Park, renowned for its elephant families and iconic baobab trees. Roaming onwards we experience the jewel that is Ngorongoro Crater, breathtakingly beautiful, and the best place in Tanzania to see the Big Five.
You will be picked up from the airport by a Africa Joy Tours representative and conveyed to your accommodation in Arusha. Here you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come. Our partner lodge, the Arusha Planet Lodge, is an oasis of calm and aesthetic pleasure.

Our safari guide will collect you from the lodge in Arusha for the drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2 hours). Tarangire, best known for its elephant families, savannah, iconic baobab trees, and seasonal swamps, is home to the life-giving Tarangire River. Animals gather at the river and giraffes, bushbuck, and hartebeest are often seen. The park is also home to buffalo, zebra, and wildebeest. These animals are closely attended by a range of predators, our Panthera friends, lion, and leopard. From the open roof of the truck, we will have the opportunity to absorb the landscapes and view the wildlife.
After a full day in the park, we will drive to the excellently appointed lodge (Karatu). Here we will enjoy dinner in the aesthetically delightful restaurant, relax, and spend the night in her capacious rooms.

Rise and shine! It’s an early departure for us today to the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the seven wonders of Africa. Once we have reached the crater rim, we rumble down a steep track into the 600 m deep caldera, noting our passage through several climatic zones, to see a range of animals and birds. The caldera (collapsed volcano) is home to over 25,000 mammals ranging from the “Big Five”, lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard, to hippo, wildebeest, zebra, hyena, and more than 500 species of birds.
After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch in the crater, we will return to Arusha arriving early in the evening.
