The 4 Days Mt Meru Trekking adventure takes you to Tanzania’s second-highest peak at 4,566 meters, located within the scenic Arusha National Park. This trek offers a rewarding experience with breathtaking views and a chance to explore forests, moorlands, and alpine terrain. Many climbers also use Mt Meru to acclimatize before attempting Kilimanjaro. Unlike Kilimanjaro, this trek requires an armed ranger, ensuring both safety and guidance throughout the hike. Along the route, you may encounter wildlife such as elephants, zebras, giraffes, and monkeys, making every step memorable.
After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), a private transfer takes you to Green Mountain Hotel in Arusha. Here, you can relax and prepare for the upcoming adventure. In the evening, the group meets for a pre-climb briefing and equipment check, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Following breakfast, drive from Arusha to Momella Gate for registration. From here, the 4 Days Mt Meru Trekking officially begins, accompanied by your armed ranger. As you trek through montane forests and open plains, watch for elephants, zebras, giraffes, monkeys, and antelopes. Wildlife sightings make the journey exciting and unique. By late afternoon, you arrive at Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight stay.
