Oliver’s offers a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, evoking the charm of traditional safari camps. You can unwind on one of the sofas in the lounge or dining area with a good book, or watch zebras and elephants pass by from your deck. Meals are served communally in the dining room, followed by evening drinks and safari stories around the campfire.
Meals and Refreshments
All meals are prepared in-camp and served outdoors when possible. Start your day with a continental breakfast or bacon and eggs. Lunch is a light buffet, while dinner is a three-course, sit-down meal. Once a week, we host a large barbecue for all guests. If you wish to spend more time in the bush, we can arrange a picnic breakfast or lunch.
We support local communities by sourcing our produce from Arusha and our honey from a local women’s project.
We can accommodate most dietary needs—please inform us before your arrival so we can make arrangements.
A Typical Day on Safari
We head out for game drives or walks early in the morning or late in the afternoon when temperatures are cooler. Exact times may vary slightly with the seasons, but we aim to be out when the animals are most active. If you’ve booked a private vehicle, you can set your own schedule with your guide.
Your day begins with an early wake-up call and a cup of tea or coffee. After breakfast, you’ll head out for a game drive or walk, or take a picnic to enjoy in the bush. By mid-morning, you’ll return to camp for some relaxation and time to freshen up before lunch.
The afternoon is a time for rest, as temperatures peak. Use this time to read, nap, or simply unwind. In the late afternoon, enjoy afternoon tea before heading out for a game drive and sundowners. End the day with drinks around the campfire and a delicious dinner shared with good company.
