The camp is located on the eastern side of the Ngorongoro Crater rim, near the Crater Lodge. Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp Situated just inside the park boundaries, our location offers early game drives into the crater. Giving you the chance to explore this World Heritage Site with minimal crowds. The crater is home to up to 25,000 animals, although the Maasai giraffes are absent due to the steep slopes. The main attraction, and the most elusive, are the 23 Black Rhinoceroses that reside within the crater, offering perhaps the only opportunity to see them in the wild. Maasai Bomas are located a few kilometers away for those interested in meeting the Maasai.
Our most intimate camp, Ang’ata Ngorongoro, offers 8 beautifully appointed guest tents. Including a two-tent family unit, creating a cozy yet luxurious safari experience. Each tent features an en-suite bathroom complete with a refreshing shower, a practical vanity desk. And modern flush toilets, ensuring comfort and convenience throughout your stay. Guests can select from king-size beds, twin beds, or triple-bed arrangements, allowing flexibility to suit couples, families, or small groups.
The camp’s lounge provides a welcoming space where travelers can gather, relax, and share stories of their daily wildlife encounters. Guests can enjoy complimentary Tanzanian coffee or tea while taking in the serene surroundings and the ever-present sounds of the African wilderness. When the weather allows, the camp ignites the Bush TV.
