This 3 days Flying Serengeti Safari is ideal for travelers intending on visiting Serengeti while wanting to avoid the 5 to 6 hour road trip from Arusha. Instead we can offer a flight package Safari with a one hour flight from Kilimanjaro International Airport in Arusha taking you to Serengeti. The flight is on a light aircraft ranging in seating from 15 to 40 passengers depending on the airline booked and passenger loads. Upon arrival in Serengeti a Driver-Guide and vehicle are waiting to receive you for start of Safari. Passenger baggage is limited to 15 kilos per passenger. These fly – in Safaris in Tanzania are usually conducted as group tours meaning your Safari vehicle will not be on private basis unless we specially request for an exclusive vehicle at extra cost.
Fly back to Arusha after spending 2 nights / 3 days in Serengeti.
A typical Safari Itinerary is listed below. Note that prices vary depending on the month or season of travel, with July to October being peak season while April to mid June is low season.
Day 1 Start of your Safari from Arusha
We will collect you from your hotel or the International airport and transfer you to the domestic , Arusha airport. There is a 1 hour reporting time. Your Flight Baggage is strictly limited to 15 kilograms. Board your flight to Serengeti – flying time approx 1 hour: Upon arrival you will be received and transferred from the airstrip to your overnight Lodge / Camp by the Lodge’s Driver guide in a 4×4 safari vehicle. Your Lodge is a acclaimed, luxury property which offers beautiful views of Serengeti National Park. Proceed for lunch [ in case of a morning flight arrival] and enjoy some leisure time at the lodge. Proceed for a Safari Gamedrive late afternoon [typically 3.30pm] during which you explore the surrounding parts of Serengeti and see its amazing wildlife. (The safari vehicle may carry other guests from the lodge).
Return to the lodge by evening [ typically 6 to 6.30 pm] in time for dinner.

Day: 2 Enjoy Full day in Serengeti
Today you have an early rise for your estimated 6.15am Safari game drive during which you will see more of the Mara’s great wildlife. Early morning, and late afternoon are considered the best times to spot animals at their most active. Return to the Lodge for a relaxed breakfast – rest of the morning at leisure. The lodge has a swimming pool but also offers a variety of add-on activities, everything from nature walks to a Maasai Village visit [ Optional activities such as Maasai Village Visit and Nature walks at additional cost – please enquire with us ]. After the sumptuous lunch, take a mid afternoon safari game drive to further explore the park. Return to the Lodge by evening [ typically 6pm] in time for a relaxed evening which may be enlivened by entertainment provided by the lodge, followed by dinner.

Day 3 Return to Arusha
Enjoy an early morning game drive before breakfast. Return to the lodge in time for a quick breakfast. Proceed to check out. You now bid Farewell to Serengeti as you will be transferred to the nearby airstrip for your return flight to Arusha [ flying time approx 1 hour]. Upon arrival in Arusha, we’ll have our Driver-guide waiting for you at the Arusha Airport for onward transfer to your hotel or to the International airport.

This 3-day mid-range safari package is designed to offer our clients an intense taste of what Tanzania has to offer. We will experience all the excitement of an African wildlife safari in the most spectacular of landscapes. On this safari, we’ll visit Tarangire National Park, renowned for its elephant families and iconic baobab trees. Roaming onwards we experience the jewel that is Ngorongoro Crater, breathtakingly beautiful, and the best place in Tanzania to see the Big Five.
Day 1 Arrival in Arusha
You will be picked up from the airport by a Africa Joy Tours representative and conveyed to your accommodation in Arusha. Here you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come. Our partner lodge, the Arusha Planet Lodge, is an oasis of calm and aesthetic pleasure.

Day: 2 Tarangire National Park
Our safari guide will collect you from the lodge in Arusha for the drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2 hours). Tarangire, best known for its elephant families, savannah, iconic baobab trees, and seasonal swamps, is home to the life-giving Tarangire River. Animals gather at the river and giraffes, bushbuck, and hartebeest are often seen. The park is also home to buffalo, zebra, and wildebeest. These animals are closely attended by a range of predators, our Panthera friends, lion, and leopard. From the open roof of the truck, we will have the opportunity to absorb the landscapes and view the wildlife.
After a full day in the park, we will drive to the excellently appointed lodge (Karatu). Here we will enjoy dinner in the aesthetically delightful restaurant, relax, and spend the night in her capacious rooms.

Day 3 Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Rise and shine! It’s an early departure for us today to the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the seven wonders of Africa. Once we have reached the crater rim, we rumble down a steep track into the 600 m deep caldera, noting our passage through several climatic zones, to see a range of animals and birds. The caldera (collapsed volcano) is home to over 25,000 mammals ranging from the “Big Five”, lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard, to hippo, wildebeest, zebra, hyena, and more than 500 species of birds.
After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch in the crater, we will return to Arusha arriving early in the evening.
