Go bird watching in both Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth National park on this 5 days birding safari Uganda. The trip gives you an opportunity to explore the diverse bird species in these parks besides wildlife. Use all the 5 days just for bird watching. Cruise along the Kazinga Channel, to see plenty of birds along the shorelines. No wonder Uganda is called the pearl of Africa, with these many birds and birdwatching opportunities. For birders, this is paradise on earth.
Your safari begins early in the morning (7:00 am) with a drive from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a journey of approximately 6 hours. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and relax before heading out for an afternoon birdwatching session around the Katwe area.

Start your day with an early cup of coffee or tea before venturing into the Kasenyi plains for birding and a game drive. Look out for savannah species, raptors, and other wildlife. A picnic breakfast will be served in the field.
In the afternoon, enjoy a 3-hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, famous for its rich birdlife including pelicans, kingfishers, and many more species. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, drive to the Ishasha sector for a full morning of birding. This unique area offers both savannah and wetland species thanks to the Ishasha River. Keep your eyes open for the famous tree-climbing lions!
Later, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to more than 350 bird species. Optional community walks in the evening can also provide additional birding opportunities.

After a morning briefing at the park headquarters, embark on a full-day birdwatching adventure along the Mubwindi Waterfalls Trail. Bwindi is a birding paradise with over 350 species, including 20 Albertine Rift endemics such as the African Green Broadbill, Rwenzori Batis, and Handsome Francolin.
Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala. En route, stop at the Equator for photos and in Mbarara for lunch. You will arrive in Kampala in the evening, marking the end of your 5-day Uganda birding safari.

This 3-day mid-range safari package is designed to offer our clients an intense taste of what Tanzania has to offer. We will experience all the excitement of an African wildlife safari in the most spectacular of landscapes. On this safari, we’ll visit Tarangire National Park, renowned for its elephant families and iconic baobab trees. Roaming onwards we experience the jewel that is Ngorongoro Crater, breathtakingly beautiful, and the best place in Tanzania to see the Big Five.
You will be picked up from the airport by a Africa Joy Tours representative and conveyed to your accommodation in Arusha. Here you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come. Our partner lodge, the Arusha Planet Lodge, is an oasis of calm and aesthetic pleasure.

Our safari guide will collect you from the lodge in Arusha for the drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2 hours). Tarangire, best known for its elephant families, savannah, iconic baobab trees, and seasonal swamps, is home to the life-giving Tarangire River. Animals gather at the river and giraffes, bushbuck, and hartebeest are often seen. The park is also home to buffalo, zebra, and wildebeest. These animals are closely attended by a range of predators, our Panthera friends, lion, and leopard. From the open roof of the truck, we will have the opportunity to absorb the landscapes and view the wildlife.
After a full day in the park, we will drive to the excellently appointed lodge (Karatu). Here we will enjoy dinner in the aesthetically delightful restaurant, relax, and spend the night in her capacious rooms.

Rise and shine! It’s an early departure for us today to the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the seven wonders of Africa. Once we have reached the crater rim, we rumble down a steep track into the 600 m deep caldera, noting our passage through several climatic zones, to see a range of animals and birds. The caldera (collapsed volcano) is home to over 25,000 mammals ranging from the “Big Five”, lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard, to hippo, wildebeest, zebra, hyena, and more than 500 species of birds.
After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch in the crater, we will return to Arusha arriving early in the evening.
