This 7-Day Mid-Range Epic Tanzania safari takes you through Tanzania’s most iconic parks, including 3 nights in the Serengeti. You’ll witness breathtaking wildlife across diverse landscapes lions resting in trees, elephants moving through the bush, and numerous animals inside Ngorongoro Crater. The highlight is a visit to Serengeti National Park, home to over three million animals. With some luck, you may encounter the Big Five.

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Start your 7-Day Mid-Range Epic Tanzania

Welcome to Tanzania! Your Exodus Safari guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, relax and prepare for the adventure ahead. Busy Arusha is a key part of safari life, with most travelers passing through at some stage.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your guide will collect you and drive you to Tarangire National Park, a two-and-a-half-hour trip on tarmac roads. The park is named after the Tarangire River, which provides the only water for wildlife during the dry season. Elephant families often gather near the river, while giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests roam the plains. Predators such as lions and leopards stalk their prey, and over 500 bird species breed here. Towering ancient baobabs add to the park’s unique landscape.

Lunch will be at a picnic site inside the park. After your game drive, you will transfer to your lodge in Karatu.

Day 3: Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, drive through the cooler regions of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Stop to admire the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater before continuing to the Serengeti via the South Gate. The Serengeti’s vast grasslands provide excellent wildlife viewing, including the Great Migration of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope. Your picnic lunch will be en route, and you’ll overnight at a tented camp in Central Serengeti.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

Spend the day exploring the Serengeti on game drives. Spot impalas, buffalo, hippos, and crocodiles, while keeping an eye out for predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Depending on the location of the Great Migration, you may venture away from the central region to witness this natural wonder.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Enjoy a final sunrise game drive before heading back through the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll stay at a mid-range lodge near the Crater Rim, enjoying cooler temperatures and scenic views. Dinner awaits upon arrival.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, descend into Ngorongoro Crater, a pristine wilderness of savannah, acacia woodland, glistening lakes, and swamps. The crater shelters large numbers of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species. You’ll have the best chance to spot endangered black rhinos in open grasslands. After a full afternoon of wildlife viewing, return to your lodge in Karatu.

Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park – End of 7-Day Mid-Range Epic Tanzania

Drive to Lake Manyara National Park for your final game drive. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before being dropped off at your preferred destination, such as Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport
