Itinerary in Details
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN ANTANANARIVO – TRANSFER TO ANDASIBE – AROUND 5 HOURS
You will arrive at Ivato International Airport in Antananarivo at around 4:00 PM, where your guide and driver will warmly welcome you. After airport formalities, you will depart by road toward Andasibe, located east of the capital in the rainforest region. The drive takes approximately four to five hours and passes through the scenic highlands, rice paddies, and small traditional villages. Along the way, your guide will introduce you to the culture and landscapes of Madagascar. Upon arrival in Andasibe in the evening, you will check in at your lodge and enjoy dinner. Overnight in Andasibe at Feon’ny Ala hotel or similar.
DAY 2: MANTADIA NATIONAL PARK – RETURN TO ANTANANARIVO – AROUND 5 HOURS
After breakfast, you will head to Mantadia National Park, one of the most pristine rainforest reserves in eastern Madagascar. Accompanied by an experienced local guide, you will explore the forest trails in search of endemic wildlife such as lemurs, chameleons, birds, and unique plant species. Mantadia is especially known for the Indri, the largest lemur species, whose distinctive calls echo through the forest. Your guide will explain the ecological importance of the rainforest and point out fascinating species along the trail. After the visit, you will begin the return drive to Antananarivo. Upon arrival in the late afternoon or evening, you will check in at your hotel for the night. Overnight in Antananarivo at Escale hotel or similar.
DAY 3: ANTANANARIVO – BEKOPAKA – TSINGY – MORONDAVA (PRIVATE CHARTER FLIGHTS)
In the morning, you will transfer to the airport to board your private charter flight heading west to Bekopaka. This private aircraft is arranged exclusively for you, allowing direct access to remote regions that are not served by regular domestic airline schedules. Upon arrival, you will visit the spectacular Tsingy de Bemaraha area, famous for its dramatic limestone pinnacles and unique geological formations. With your guide, you will explore part of this remarkable landscape and learn about the biodiversity found within this UNESCO World Heritage Site. After the visit, you will board your private plane for the short flight to Morondava on the west coast. In the late afternoon, you will head to the famous Baobab Alley to admire the breathtaking sunset among the iconic giant baobab trees before returning to your hotel in Morondava. Overnight in Morondava at Select hotel or similar.
DAY 4: MORONDAVA – ISALO NATIONAL PARK (PRIVATE CHARTER FLIGHT)
Early in the morning, you will transfer to the airstrip to board your private charter flight to the Isalo region. Flying privately allows you to reach this remote destination quickly and comfortably while enjoying aerial views of Madagascar’s diverse landscapes. Upon arrival, you will drive to Isalo National Park, renowned for its sandstone canyons, natural pools, and unique rock formations. Accompanied by your guide, you will explore one of the park’s scenic trails and discover endemic plants, impressive cliffs, and possibly ring-tailed lemurs
or sifakas. A visit to a natural swimming pool surrounded by lush vegetation may also be included during the excursion. Overnight in Ranohira Isalo at Orchidée de l’Isalo hotel or similar.
DAY 5: ISALO – ANTANANARIVO (PRIVATE CHARTER FLIGHT)
After breakfast, you will enjoy a peaceful morning in the Isalo region, surrounded by its spectacular landscapes. Depending on the schedule, you may have time for a short walk or simply relax and admire the unique scenery of the sandstone massif. Later, you will transfer to the nearby airstrip for your private charter flight back to Antananarivo. The flight offers beautiful views over Madagascar’s varied terrain, from dry western landscapes to the central highlands. Upon arrival in the capital, your driver will transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for relaxation after the journey. Overnight in Antananarivo at Escale hotel or similar.
DAY 6: TRANSFER TO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
After breakfast, you will enjoy your final moments in Antananarivo. Depending on your departure time, you may have some free time to relax at the hotel. Your driver and guide will then accompany you to Ivato International Airport. Assistance will be provided with check-in and departure formalities. This marks the end of your journey in Madagascar. This 3-day mid-range safari package is designed to offer our clients an intense taste of what Tanzania has to offer. We will experience all the excitement of an African wildlife safari in the most spectacular of landscapes. On this safari, we’ll visit Tarangire National Park, renowned for its elephant families and iconic baobab trees. Roaming onwards we experience the jewel that is Ngorongoro Crater, breathtakingly beautiful, and the best place in Tanzania to see the Big Five.
Day 1 Arrival in Arusha
You will be picked up from the airport by a Africa Joy Tours representative and conveyed to your accommodation in Arusha. Here you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come. Our partner lodge, the Arusha Planet Lodge, is an oasis of calm and aesthetic pleasure.

Day: 2 Tarangire National Park
Our safari guide will collect you from the lodge in Arusha for the drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2 hours). Tarangire, best known for its elephant families, savannah, iconic baobab trees, and seasonal swamps, is home to the life-giving Tarangire River. Animals gather at the river and giraffes, bushbuck, and hartebeest are often seen. The park is also home to buffalo, zebra, and wildebeest. These animals are closely attended by a range of predators, our Panthera friends, lion, and leopard. From the open roof of the truck, we will have the opportunity to absorb the landscapes and view the wildlife.
After a full day in the park, we will drive to the excellently appointed lodge (Karatu). Here we will enjoy dinner in the aesthetically delightful restaurant, relax, and spend the night in her capacious rooms.

Day 3 Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Rise and shine! It’s an early departure for us today to the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the seven wonders of Africa. Once we have reached the crater rim, we rumble down a steep track into the 600 m deep caldera, noting our passage through several climatic zones, to see a range of animals and birds. The caldera (collapsed volcano) is home to over 25,000 mammals ranging from the “Big Five”, lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard, to hippo, wildebeest, zebra, hyena, and more than 500 species of birds.
After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch in the crater, we will return to Arusha arriving early in the evening.
