Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania! An African joy representative greets you at the airport and drives you to your lodge in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax and prepare for your upcoming 6-Day Mid-Range Highlights Safari. The lively city of Arusha plays an important role in northern Tanzania’s safari circuit, and most travelers pass through at some point.

Accommodation: Arusha Planet Lodge
Meals & Drinks: At own expense

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your Exodus Safari guide meets you at the lodge, and you begin your drive to Tarangire National Park. The two-and-a-half-hour journey takes you along smooth tarmac roads. Named after the Tarangire River, the park becomes a key water source during the dry season. As you explore, you often see elephant families gathering near the river, along with giraffes, hartebeest, and bushbuck. Predators such as lions and leopards frequently follow these herds.

Moreover, Tarangire hosts more breeding bird species than anywhere else on Earth, and its ancient baobab trees some believed to be over a thousand years old add even more character to the landscape. After enjoying a picnic lunch inside the park, you continue to your lodge in Karatu.

Accommodation: Eileen’s Tree Inn
Meals & Drinks: All meals included; drinks not included

Day 3: Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you travel toward the cooler highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You stop at the panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater before continuing toward the Serengeti and entering from the southern side.

The Serengeti impresses with its vast grasslands and excellent wildlife viewing. While it offers abundant wildlife year-round, it is especially famous for the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and antelope move in search of fresh grazing. Depending on the season, you may witness one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. After enjoying a picnic lunch, you settle into your luxury tented camp in Central Serengeti.

Accommodation: Land of Nature Camp
Meals & Drinks: All meals included; drinks not included

Day 4: Serengeti National Park (Full-Day Game Drive)

Today, the 6-Day Mid-Range Highlights Safari allows you to fully immerse yourself in the Serengeti. The park holds a wide range of wildlife, including buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, and impalas. As you move across the plains, you also increase your chances of seeing predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Because of these dramatic encounters, many travelers consider this day the highlight of their trip.

You may choose an early morning and late afternoon game drive with lunch at the camp, or you can enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch inside the park.

Accommodation: Land of Nature Camp
Meals & Drinks: All meals included; drinks not included

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you begin your journey toward Ngorongoro Crater while enjoying more wildlife sightings along the way. As you approach the crater, the steep volcanic walls reveal a stunning landscape of open savannah, acacia forests, lakes, and swamps. Formed when a massive volcano collapsed millions of years ago, the crater now shelters a high concentration of wildlife.

During your descent, you quickly encounter wildebeest, gazelles, zebras, and more than 500 bird species. The crater also gives you one of the best opportunities to see the endangered black rhino. After a rewarding afternoon, you drive back to your lodge in Karatu.

Accommodation: Eileen’s Tree Inn
Meals & Drinks: All meals included; drinks not included

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park

This morning, you travel to Lake Manyara National Park, the final stop of your 6-Day Mid-Range Highlights Safari. Although the park is small, it is packed with diverse landscapes. The Great Rift Valley wall rises dramatically above Lake Manyara, a shallow alkaline lake that attracts flamingos and more than 500 bird species.

As you explore the thick evergreen forests, you may see baboons, elephants, and if you are lucky the park’s famous tree-climbing lions. Later, you enjoy a picnic lunch before your guide takes you to your chosen drop-off point, such as Arusha, Kilimanjaro Airport, or Arusha Airport. Your safari ends here, and we hope you take home unforgettable memories.
