Itinerary in Details
The journey begins in Antananarivo for 4 days of wildlife discovery, with a transfer included. The visits to the parks include Peyrieras, Vakona Reserve, Voimma Park, Mantadia Park, and Analamazaotra Park. The large protected parks allow an exploration of the forest through its giant ferns and lianas as far as the eye can see. You can discover superb natural pools and incredible waterfalls, and indri-indri, the largest lemur in the world, is found in the Andasibe-Mantadia Park.

Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo
When you arrive at the airport, we will hold a sign with your name. After picking you up, we will drive to our hotel in Antananarivo, give you a special briefing about our upcoming journey, and answer any questions you may have about our upcoming adventure.

Day 2: Antananarivo – Andasibe (around 3 hours driving)
The departure is scheduled at 8:00 am towards Andasibe. We will visit the exotic Peyrieras Reserve, where we find chameleons, lizards, frogs, snakes, butterflies and Sifaka lemurs, as well as other species of lemurs, such as Indri and ring-tailed. Then we head to Andasibe, the world-famous lemur paradise. When it gets dark, we start the night tour through the forest to observe night lemurs and other nocturnal animals. We will overnight in Andasibe.

Day 3: Visit of Analamazaotra and Vakona Reserve
The primary forests contain a dense, humid forest covered with leans, moss, fern trees and more than a hundred orchid species. It is home to many species of lemurs, including indri-indri, the largest of all, diademed sifaka, common brown lemur, bamboo lemur and sportive lemur. Common plants growing here are pandanus, ravinala palm trees, tambourissa, bamboos and some precious wood, like palisander and ebony. The extraordinary animal diversity is completed with another 15 mammal species and more than 100 bird species (many endemic, like the Madagascar yellow brow).
In the afternoon, we will head to the Vakona Reserve to see the lemurs and many crocodiles, as well as whistling ducks, kingfishers and other species of birds.

Day 4: Andasibe – Antananarivo – Home country (around 3 hours driving)
After breakfast at the hotel, we will start our road transfer to Antananarivo. Along the way, we will enjoy the landscapes of the highlands and learn about their way of life. We will stop for lunch. Then, we will head to the airport to wait for our flight to our home country.

This 3-day mid-range safari package is designed to offer our clients an intense taste of what Tanzania has to offer. We will experience all the excitement of an African wildlife safari in the most spectacular of landscapes. On this safari, we’ll visit Tarangire National Park, renowned for its elephant families and iconic baobab trees. Roaming onwards we experience the jewel that is Ngorongoro Crater, breathtakingly beautiful, and the best place in Tanzania to see the Big Five.
Day 1 Arrival in Arusha
You will be picked up from the airport by a Africa Joy Tours representative and conveyed to your accommodation in Arusha. Here you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come. Our partner lodge, the Arusha Planet Lodge, is an oasis of calm and aesthetic pleasure.

Day: 2 Tarangire National Park
Our safari guide will collect you from the lodge in Arusha for the drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2 hours). Tarangire, best known for its elephant families, savannah, iconic baobab trees, and seasonal swamps, is home to the life-giving Tarangire River. Animals gather at the river and giraffes, bushbuck, and hartebeest are often seen. The park is also home to buffalo, zebra, and wildebeest. These animals are closely attended by a range of predators, our Panthera friends, lion, and leopard. From the open roof of the truck, we will have the opportunity to absorb the landscapes and view the wildlife.
After a full day in the park, we will drive to the excellently appointed lodge (Karatu). Here we will enjoy dinner in the aesthetically delightful restaurant, relax, and spend the night in her capacious rooms.

Day 3 Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Rise and shine! It’s an early departure for us today to the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the seven wonders of Africa. Once we have reached the crater rim, we rumble down a steep track into the 600 m deep caldera, noting our passage through several climatic zones, to see a range of animals and birds. The caldera (collapsed volcano) is home to over 25,000 mammals ranging from the “Big Five”, lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard, to hippo, wildebeest, zebra, hyena, and more than 500 species of birds.
After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch in the crater, we will return to Arusha arriving early in the evening.
