This 15 Day Victoria Falls Botswana adventure is an ideal safari for those who wish to explore the magic of Victoria Falls combined with Chobe, the majestic Okavango Delta and the game-rich Moremi Concession, staying in small camps with flights in between to maximize your safari experience. End with a week of relaxation, shopping and culinary delights in Cape Town and the Winelands.
How to get there
- Most visitors to Botswana will have a stopover in South Africa to pick up a direct flight from O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg or Cape Town International Airport (CPT).
- Botswana’s main airport is Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (GBE), located 11km/7miles north of Gaborone, the capital.
- For travelers, it is more common to fly into Maun Airport (MUB) and Kasane Airport (BBK). When combining a safari in Botswana with a visit to Victoria Falls, it is common to fly into Maun and depart from Victoria Falls Airport (VFA) in Zimbabwe or Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport (LVI; formerly Livingstone Airport) in Zambia.

Day 1: Arrive Victoria Falls
You are met on arrival at the airport after clearing customs. You will be transferred to the Vic Falls Safari Lodge. Enjoy a leisurely sunset cruise on the tranquil waters above the Falls, where canapés and sundowners are served, whilst you enjoy the sights and sounds of the Zambezi River and marvel at the beauty of an African sunset this evening.
Day 2: Victoria Falls
After breakfast a guided tour of Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Walk through the magnificent rain forest where you are able to view the largest falling sheet of water on earth, Livingstone’s statue and a wide variety of birds and plants. This afternoon you may wish to undertake one of the many optional activities available such as Helicopter flights, Elephant interaction, game drives and more.
Day 3-4: Chobe NP
This morning you are transferred to the Kasane border post for immigration into Botswana. On arrival at Kasane you are met and transferred to Chobe Game Lodge. Chobe Game Lodge is the only permanent game lodge located within the Chobe National Park in Botswana. You have the option of an included sunset cruise on the Chobe River of an afternoon/evening game drive. Enjoy both morning and afternoon game drives on your second day at this lodge.
Day 5-6: Okavango Delta
After a morning game drive and breakfast, you will be picked up for a road transfer from Chobe Game Lodge to Kasane for your scenic flight over the Delta to the Xugana airstrip. The 60-minute flight is a highlight as you fly over one of the world’s most amazing ecosystems and spot wildlife from the air. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will be met and transferred to Xugana Island Lodge, an exclusive camp located within a private concession at Xugana Lagoon and is widely accepted as being the most spectacular permanent water site in the entire Okavango Delta. Accommodation is in 8 luxury raised reed and thatch lagoon facing chalets, with en-suite facilities and private viewing decks situated on the shaded fringe of the island. You have the option of an afternoon of game activities including exploring the delta by mekoro (canoe) or motorboat and walking safaris. Enjoy both morning and afternoon game activities on your second day at this camp.
Day 7-8: Moremi Game Reserve
After an early morning game drive and breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for your short flight to the delightful Camp Moremi. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will be met and transferred to Camp Moremi, an exclusive camp located within the game-rich Moremi Game Reserve on the northern edge of the Okavango Delta. Accommodation is in 11 luxury tents with ensuite facilities. You have the option of an afternoon of game activities including game drives or boating excursions. Enjoy both morning and afternoon game activities on your second day at this camp.
Day 9: Cape Town
After a morning game activity and breakfast you are transferred by light aircraft on another scenic flight to Maun to connect to your flight to Cape Town. On arrival in Cape Town, you will be met and transferred to the lovely boutique Blackheath Lodge set in vibrant Sea Point for your overnight rest.
Day 10: Cape Town City Tour
Your guide will collect you for your half-day private city tour. Table Mountain will be your first stop for breath-taking views of the city, beaches and Cape Peninsula. As an alternative, your guide can take you to Signal Hill for a different, but just as beautiful perspective of the city. Next stop is The South African Museum and a lovely stroll through The Company Gardens, followed with a brief visit of The Parliament Buildings. Visit the city centre including Green Market Square, Long Street and depending on level of interest, pop into a diamond museum and store. On the way back, pass through the Cape Malay quarter known as The Bo Kaap with brightly coloured houses. Time permitting or as alternatives to the above, your guide can include visits to The South African National Gallery, The Bo Kaap, Iziko Slave Lodge and District Six Museums. Cable Car included. Entrance fees to Museums are for your own account. The rest of the day is at your leisure to enjoy the sights of Cape Town.
Day 11: Cape Peninsula Tour
Your guide will collect you for your full-day private Cape Peninsula tour. You will be taken on a spectacular journey around the Cape Peninsula taking in all the highlights and breathtaking beauty of this world-renowned region, including a stop at the famous Boulder’s Beach where the penguins are located as well as the scenic Chapman’s Peak Drive. Time permitting, the guide can also stop at the Kirstenbosch Botantical Gardens. Travel through historic suburbs of Muizenberg, St James and Simon’s Town, charming fishing villages of Kalk Bay and Hout Bay and beautiful viewpoints on the way to Cape Point, where the mighty Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet in harmony. Your guide will stop in one of the areas for lunch. Entrance fees to the penguins at Boulders Beach, Kirstenbosch Botantical Gardens, Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and lunch are for your own account.
Day 12: Cape Town Free Day
A free day to explore Cape Town and visit the V&A Waterfront area with its many cafes, shops and restaurants. From here, you may wish to got to Robben Island where from the 17th to the 20th centuries, the Island served as a place of banishment, isolation and imprisonment, made infamous by its most prominent inmate, Nelson Mandela. Today it is a World Heritage Site and museum, a poignant reminder to the price paid for freedom.
Day 13: Winelands Day Tour to Stellenbosch
Today you will be pickup up for a full-day private guided Cape Winelands tour. The Winelands are set just an hour outside of Cape Town and blessed with heavenly scenery with breathtaking views. The area’s rich with history, and you can’t help but feel it as you move through the region. You will make stops to experience a wine cellar tour, where you’ll learn all about the process of winemaking, from grape to goblet. Arriving in Stellenbosch, you will be check in to your boutique hotel in the heart of the wine country.
Day 14: Cape Winelands (Stellenbosch)
You have a free day in the heart of the Western Cape’s wine region. You are free to explore the delightful little town of Stellenbosch with its many cafes, art shops and great restaurants. You may also wish to have the hotel book you another wine tour. Extra nights available upon request.
Day 15: Depart
Enjoy a last morning free before being transferred to the airport for your onward flight home
