This Uganda Wildlife Expedition tour takes you through the best of the Ugandan countryside. Visit Mabira Forest, Jinja, Sipi Falls, the Pian Upe Game Reserve, the Karamonjong Region, Kidepo Valley National Park, Gulu, Murchison Falls and the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary!
Day 1: Entebbe
This is your arrival day in this beautiful, nature filled nation! You will be welcomed at the airport by our guide and immediately transferred to your hotel, which is only a ten-minute drive away! You will have lunch or dinner (depending on your arrival time) and then rest in preparation for your Uganda Wildlife Expedition upcoming safari! Accommodation: Karibu Guesthouse
Day 2: Jinja
Start the day with an early morning breakfast and then drive to Sezibwa Falls. Marvel in the beauty of this area before proceeding to Mabira Forest for a nature walk through the thick rain forest. Have lunch and then make your way to Jinja and your overnight stay at the Haven River Lodge. Accommodation: Haven River Lodge
Day 3: Jinja
Eat a delicious continental breakfast overlooking the amazing Nile River before partaking in some of the activities that Jinja is famous for. White water raft on the wild rapids of the Nile, bungee jump, cycle through the community, or visit the source of the Nile – the choices are endless! Have lunch in the afternoon and then relax at the lodge Accommodation: Haven River Lodge
Day 4: Sipi Falls
After breakfast today you will stop in Mbale for a short city tour and some lunch before driving to Sipi Falls for a community walk in the afternoon. You will learn how locals in this area cultivate, nurture and roast coffee – one of the biggest crops grown here. Later you will eat dinner and spend the night at the Sipi River Lodge. Day 5: Sipi Falls
Start with an early morning breakfast and then go on a morning hike to the magnificent Sipi Falls. This is an experience you will remember for the rest of your life. Take in the three falls and the historic caves that hold significant cultural meaning for the tribes that live here. The landscape of this area will leave you wanting more! Later you will walk back to the lodge to relax. Accommodation: Sipi River Lodge
Day 6: Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve
Eat a hearty breakfast at the lodge before you say goodbye to this amazing area and make your way to the Pian Upe Wildlife Game Reserve. You will stop along the way to visit with the locals and learn about their unique culture before eating lunch at a scenic area. After you arrive at the park you will set up camp and rest. Accommodation: Budget camping
Day 7: Mount Moroto
Wake early and eat breakfast so you can depart on a sunrise game drive to see antelopes, birds, cheetahs (if you are lucky) and many more! You will then drive on to Moroto, where you will spend the night at the Moroto Hotel. Be sure to rest after this long day on the safari trail. Accommodation: Mt Moroto Hotel
Day 8: Mount Moroto
After breakfast you will go on a walk into the nearby community to visit with the amazing Karamonja tribe. You will walk through their unique homesteads called “manyattas” and learn about their culture. Afterwards you will visit the foothills of Mount Moroto and then eat dinner. Accommodation: Mt Moroto Hotel
Day 9: Kidepo Valley National Park
Wake up early this morning and drive to Kidepo Valley National Park in the northeast. Along the way you will watch local people tending their homes and crops. This beautiful, semi-arid area is rich with vegetation year round. When you reach the park you will check-in at the camp and then go on an evening game drive. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp. Accommodation: Apoka Rest Camp
Day 10: Kidepo Valley National Park
After a hearty breakfast you will go on a morning game drive to see animals like lions, buffaloes, elephants, leopards and maybe even cheetahs. After your game drive you will eat lunch and then go on an evening nature walk before returning to the camp. Accommodation: Apoka Rest Camp
Day 11: Gulu
Today you will drive to Gulu, where you will go on a tour of the town and visit with the locals. This used to be a war torn region that is now in the process of recovery and rebuilding. It is a beautiful place that is filled with sensitive memories. You will spend the night here. Accommodation: Boma Hotel
Day 12: Murchison Falls National Park
Today you will drive to the largest national park in Uganda, Murchison Falls. You will take many photo stops since this is such a breathtaking area of the country. On the way you will pass by sunflower and maize crops, among others. After such a unique and interesting journey, you will check in at the lodge for your overnight stay. Accommodation: Fort Murchison
Day 13: Murchison Falls National Park
Go on an early morning game drive to see game such as giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, antelopes and plenty of birds! After lunch you will go on a boat safari to see crocodiles, hippos and the bottom of the falls. Leave the boat and hike to the top of the falls in order to get a closer look. Later you will drive back to the lodge for your overnight stay. Accommodation: Fort Murchison
Day 14: ZIwa Rhino Sanctuary – Kampala
After an early breakfast at Fort Murchison Lodge you will drive to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you spend some time rhino tracking. This is the only place in Uganda where you can see white rhinos. Later you will drive to Kampala and check in at the Tuhende Safari Lodge. Accommodation: Tuhende Safari Lodge
Day 15: Kampala – Entebbe
This is the last day of your safari – so make the most of it! You will begin with a city tour to the most interesting and historical areas around Kampala, have lunch and then drive to Entebbe
