2 days Kilimanjaro hiking

On this trip, you’ll hike on the Marangu Route with one night at Mandara Hut and towards Horombo Hut before returning to Mandara for lunch then hiking back. you’ll NOT reach the summit.

 

All short treks are offered on a personal basis, and you’ll start on any day of the year. The short treks are geared for people that wish to hike but reaching the summit isn’t a “must do”, and permit one to experience the thrill of hiking on the very best peak on the African continent.

All trekking inside the Tanzania park require the services of a licensed Kilimanjaro guide, and therefore the Marangu route is that the only route where short treks are allowed. For an overnight hike you’ll occupy the park. huts.

Detailed Tour Itinerary

Day 1: moshi to Manadara hut

After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll meet your guide, drive to the Kilimanjaro park Gate (about 1 hour), register and commence the climb. Walk through the rainforest to the Mandara encampment.

A side trip to Maundi Crater may be a great way to ascertain the environment including Northern Tanzania and Kenya. within the rainforest, search for towering Eucalyptus trees, bird life, and Colobus monkeys.

After lunch, hike back to park gate and drive back to Moshi.

Day 2: Hike towards Horombo then down to park gate and return to Moshi

You leave the glades of the rainforest and follow an ascending path on the open moorlands towards the Horombo encampment. Views of Mawenzi and therefore the summit of Kibo are amazing. Search for giant lobelias and groundsels. After lunch at Mandara, hike back to the park gate and repel to Moshi (about 1 hour).
