Itinerary Overview

Botswana is one of Africa’s most spectacular safari destinations, home to vast wilderness areas where wildlife roams freely in pristine habitats. This 9-day adventure takes you deep into the heart of the country, combining the serene channels of the Okavango Delta, the predator-rich landscapes of Moremi Game Reserve, the wild and rugged Savuti region, and the elephant kingdom of Chobe National Park.

Unlike rushed itineraries, this journey is designed to give you extended time in each destination, ensuring that you experience not just the animals, but also the rhythm and spirit of Botswana’s untamed wilderness. From gliding silently in a traditional mokoro canoe through papyrus-lined channels, to listening to lions roar under a starlit sky in Savuti, every moment is a memory waiting to unfold.

How to Get There

  • The safari starts in Maun and ends in Kasane (or Victoria Falls upon request).

  • International flights should be arranged into Maun International Airport (MUB) and out of Kasane Airport (BBK).

  • Transfers to Victoria Falls (VFA/LVI) can be easily arranged.

  • Pre- and post-safari accommodation in Maun or Kasane can be booked on request.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Maun – Gateway to the Delta

Upon arrival at Maun International Airport, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to your camp in the Okavango Delta. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy your first introduction to this watery wonderland with a short mokoro ride or evening nature walk. As the sun sets, listen to the calls of fish eagles and the distant grunts of hippos—a perfect welcome to Botswana.

Dinner and overnight at Okavango Delta Camp (Full Board).

Day 2: Exploring the Okavango Delta

A full day is dedicated to discovering the Delta, often described as one of the “Seven Natural Wonders of Africa.” Glide through crystal-clear channels on a mokoro, walk on hidden islands with your guide, and observe elephants feeding quietly on reeds along the banks. This is the place to reconnect with nature at its purest, where every sound and sight feels intimate and unspoiled.

Dinner and overnight at Okavango Delta Camp (Full Board).

Day 3: Okavango Delta – Moremi Game Reserve

After breakfast, journey into Moremi Game Reserve, a land of contrasts where woodlands, lagoons, and floodplains attract an astonishing variety of wildlife. Afternoon game drive introduces you to the park’s famed residents—elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, and more. With luck, you may spot wild dogs, one of Botswana’s most sought-after predators.

Dinner and overnight at Moremi Lodge/Camp (Full Board).

Day 4: Full Day in Moremi

Spend a full day exploring Moremi with both morning and afternoon game drives. Your guide will track prides of lions lazing under acacia trees, pods of hippos wallowing in lagoons, and large herds of buffalo moving across the plains. The scenery here is just as impressive as the wildlife, with golden savannahs stretching endlessly to the horizon.

Dinner and overnight at Moremi Lodge/Camp (Full Board).

Day 5: Moremi – Khwai Concession

Today you cross into the Khwai Concession, a community-managed wildlife area that borders Moremi. Unlike national parks, Khwai allows for both night drives and walking safaris, offering a more flexible and adventurous experience. As the sun sets, head out for a nocturnal drive in search of leopards, genets, civets, and owls—species rarely seen during the day.

Dinner and overnight at Khwai Camp (Full Board).

Day 6: Khwai – Into the Wild Savuti (Chobe National Park)

After breakfast, continue northward to the legendary Savuti region of Chobe National Park. Famous for its dramatic predator-prey battles and large prides of lions, Savuti offers some of the most thrilling game viewing in Africa. Afternoon drive takes you into its rugged landscapes of rocky outcrops, marshlands, and wide savannahs.

Dinner and overnight at Savuti Lodge/Camp (Full Board).

Day 7: Full Day in Savuti

Wake up to the calls of jackals and begin a day of adventure in Savuti. Morning and afternoon game drives may bring you face-to-face with cheetahs on the hunt, elephants browsing on mopane trees, or hyenas interacting in clans. This is a raw, wild region where the drama of nature is constantly unfolding, making every moment in Savuti unforgettable.

Dinner and overnight at Savuti Lodge/Camp (Full Board).

Day 8: Savuti – Chobe Riverfront

Today you travel to the Chobe Riverfront, one of the most productive wildlife areas in Botswana. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Chobe River, a highlight of any safari. Watch elephants crossing the river, hippos yawning in the shallows, and crocodiles basking on sandbanks. As the sun sets over the water, the golden light creates a magical setting.

Dinner and overnight at Chobe Safari Lodge (Full Board).

Day 9: Chobe – Kasane Departure

On your final day, enjoy a morning game drive along the riverfront before being transferred to Kasane Airport for your onward flight, or to Victoria Falls for an extended holiday. This marks the end of your unforgettable Botswana adventure, filled with memories of endless landscapes and thrilling wildlife encounters.
