7 Day Victoria Falls & Chobe Safari
This 7 Day Victoria Falls Chobe National Park Safaris For the adventure traveler we have crafted a 7-day Victoria falls and Chobe Park tour. For accommodation you can choose between tented or lodge/chalet.
During this excursion you will enjoy the magnificent Victoria Falls (one of the 7 natural wonders of the world) and many other highlights including Chobe and Zambezi river cruises.
Day 1: Depart to Botswana Khama Rhino Sanctuary
We make an early morning departure from Johannesburg & Pretoria, stopping en route for breakfast and refreshments (own account) and some last minute shopping. Then we head for the Botswana border. After our border crossing you will have the opportunity to exchange currencies. Then we head north to the Khama Rhino Sanctuary where we will spend the night. After a game drive your guide will prepare dinner.
Day 2: Chobe National Park Botswana
After breakfast we travel further north through the Kasane forest where you will see herds of elephants, rare antelopes and often lion, hyena and wild dog. We should arrive at Kasane around mid-day where we check in at the Thebe River Lodge located on the shores of the Chobe River. This will be our gateway to the Chobe National Park. Here you can chill out and relax at the swimming pool which overlooks the Chobe river. You will see a variety of wild life and bird species. There is also a good chance to see elephant, buffalo and hippo. In the afternoon we will go on an exciting river cruise that will take us into Chobe National Park which is rich in wildlife. Good chance to see elephants swimming across the river, hippo, Elephants and rich variety of bird life. Overnight at our campsite. Dinner will be prepared by your guide.
Day 3: Chobe to Victoria Falls
We start with early morning coffee or tea and biscuits followed by a riveting game drive into the Chobe National Park. After our game drive we enjoy a nice breakfast. It is a short drive to the border and our lodge / campsite in the Victoria Falls. On arrival at our campsite you can exchange money and book optional extra activities. Thereafter we head off to the amazing Victoria Falls which is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The waterfall is 1700 meters (1.1 mile) wide, of which 1300 meters is on the Zimbabwean side, including the main falls.
Late afternoon we will do a sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River, which has national parks on both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides of the river. All soft drinks, wine, beer and finger snacks are included in the cruise. After the Chobe river adventure we return to our rest camp. We have dinner at the resort restaurant. Overnight at our camp site,
Day 4: Victoria Falls Optional Activities
You will have plenty of free time on this day in Victoria Falls to explore the town, meet the locals, visit the African arts and craft markets, relax by the pool in the heat of the day, and to take part in some of the many optional activities on offer here.
Optional activities are offered by 3rd parties and local operators that include walk with lions, elephant back riding, bungee jumping, white water rafting, helicopter ride over the falls and more. Dinner prepared by your guide. Overnight at our camp site.
Day 5: Victoria Falls to Elephant Sands in Botswana
After breakfast we leave the Vic Falls behind and make our way over the border and back into Botswana. We head south towards Nata and the Elephant Sands rest camp. Do expect to see elephants at the waterhole and around the camp site.
This night we enjoy a buffet dinner.
Day 6: Nata to Palapye Botswana
After breakfast we depart and travel south to Palapye. On route we will stop for lunch (own account). We spend our last night of our tour at a campsite / lodge in Palapye. In the evening we will enjoy a restaurant meal in the camp’s open air restaurant. Overnight at our campsite.
Day 7: Return to Johannesburg South Africa
After a cup of coffee / tea and a light breakfast we will make our way back to Johannesburg & Pretoria with scheduled stops on the way. Drop in Johannesburg early to late afternoon.
