Following the steps of David Livingstone, explore the fourth biggest African river, the Zambezi. After visiting Victoria Falls, we set off to Hwange National Park for a 3 days walking safari in a private camp. Then, we transfer by plane to Mana Pools where we stay for 5 nights. The next 3 days, as you paddle down the Lower Zambezi along Mana Pools National Parks shoreline, you can observe wildlife and enjoy nature at its best! You end your safari in a remote exclusive camp in Mana Pools.
Day 1: Victoria Falls
You are welcomed by your guide at Livingstone airport and transferred to the lodge.
Besides visiting the Victoria Falls, you can do optional activities such as rafting the Zambezi gorge, buggy jumping, fly over the falls in microlight or helicopter, horse or elephant back safaris… Meals at your account. Accommodation: Ilala Lodge
Day 2-4: Walking safari in Hwange National Park
Transfer to Hwange national park where we camp in a private campsite for 3 nights.
Hwange is known as ”The Land of the Giants’ due to its huge elephant population. Led by one of the top Zimbaween guide, you discover Hwange on foot. There is no better way to explore the bush! You will track big game but your guide will also share with you is deep knowledge of the bush and show you the many things we miss from a vehicle. Accommodation: Mid-range camping
Day 5-7: Mana Pools: canoeing the Zambezi river
Air transfer to Mana Pool. Mana Pools is one of the most magical park of Africa and this is no surprise it was one of the first to be declared a UNESCO site. During the next three days, we paddle down the Zambezi River in stable Canadian-style canoes. We carry all the camping equipment with us in order to be completely autonomous. We camp on islands or on the bank and dinners are taken around the campfire, under the stars with the sound of the African bush surrounding us! Accommodation: Budget camping
Day 8-9: Mana Pool: Kanga Camp
This morning, we paddle for another two hours before meeting with the 4×4 and transfer to Kanga Camp. Kanga is located 15kms inland along the Ruckomechi River, on a private concesssion. This very private camp, with only 6 ensuite walk-in tents has a wonderful and very private setting. This section of the park is ideal for walking safari but you will also do game drives in open 4×4. Day 10: Mana Pools – Harare
After a last activity in Kanga, road transfer to Harare where the tour ends.
