Combine walking and driving safaris in these two magnificent National Parks with the optional extra activities of canoeing and tiger fishing on the Zambezi River.
Day 1-3: Luwi Bushcamp
On arrival at Mfuwe Airport (flight not included), you will be transported to Luwi Bush Camp this will take around 3 – 4 hours and is a slow game drive through the Park, where you can settle into your lovely room. In afternoon after an excellent afternoon tea, you will participate in your first game viewing activity on foot, exploring the area around the dry white sand Luwi River and one evening possibly heading to the Hippo Hide for sundowners.
Your second day in the South Luangwa will begin breakfast before heading out on a game walk to see the wildlife during the gorgeous morning light. You will get to camp in time for a sumptuous buffet brunch before having a few hours of ‘siesta’ time to watch the goings on from your room, head to the nearby ‘hippo hide’ or have a proper sleep! In the afternoons you will enjoy a delicious cake and tea/coffee before heading out on your afternoon walk exploring the area around the dry white sand Luwi River. Accommodation: Luwi Bushcamp
Day 4-6: Kakuli Bushcamp
Jump aboard the game viewing vehicle for a game drive to Kakuli Bush Camp or alternatively you can make your way there by foot and part drive. The transfer can be done either as a guided walk or by vehicle. Kakuli features luxury tents with stunning views of the Luangwa River, which is home to one of the largest concentrations of hippos and crocodiles in Africa. Daily game drives and walking safaris will be conducted in the same manner as previous days with the addition of night drives after dark. Depart on a morning drive or bush walk before returning to camp. Brunch is then served after which you will have time to relax, read, have a siesta or watch animal activity at the local water hole. Afternoon tea and cake is then served before you leave for your afternoon game viewing activity. Stop for a traditional sundowner drink before the drive continues at night under spotlight to explore nocturnal life. Accommodation: Kakuli Bushcamp

This morning you will enjoy one final hearty breakfast at Kakuli Bush Camp, and then make your way to Mfuwe Airport for your domestic flight back to Lusaka and onto Royal Airstrip in the Lower Zambezi. This drive will be a combination game drive/transfer taking around 2 – 3 hours depending on what you see along the way. The flights take just over 2 hours including your Lusaka stop over. On arrival at Royal Airstrip, you will be transported to Chongwe River Camp idyllically set on the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers. Arrive in time to enjoy a lunch. Each morning you will wake up to the sounds of hippos in time for breakfast around the campfire overlooking the Chongwe River. Depart on a morning activity, stopping during the activity for a morning tea/coffee/cake which is always very welcome half way through the morning. Return to camp in time for brunch, buffet style. The afternoon will be at leisure for you to relax, read, have a siesta, or watch the animal activity around the camp. Afternoon tea and cake is served before heading out for your afternoon activity.
